35th Midwest Regional ACS Meeting
October 25-28, 2000
St. Louis, Missouri
The 35th Midwest Regional Meeting was held Wednesday, October 25th through
Saturday, October 28th, 2000 in St. Louis, with over 850 members in attendance. The meeting, hosted by the St. Louis Section
of the American Chemical Society, was the last major event to be held at the King Henry VIII
Hotel located on Lindbergh Blvd, one-half mile north of I-70 and one mile south of I-270.
The hotel is located 5 minutes from Lambert International Airport, and is currently scheduled for
demolition to make way for a new runway.

airlines for the ACS 2000 meeting travel program. All offer 5% off
published excursion domestic fares, 10% off unrestricted coach fares, and
special domestic fares that are less than the unrestricted fares and do not

Accommodations
The conference will be held in the King Henry VIII Hotel and Conference
Center, 4690 North Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63044, phone (314)
731-3040, fax (314) 731-4210. A block of rooms has been reserved for the
conference. Room reservations must be made before September 25th to obtain
the special rates of $68, single; $73, double-double, and $83, suite. To
make reservations, contact the hotel directly and identify yourself as a
participant in the 35th ACS Midwest Regional Meeting.
The hotel operates a
shuttle to and from the airport. The shuttle is available 'on-call' at the
baggage claim level by picking up the designated telephone. The hotel
shuttle can also be used to travel to Northwest plaza, a nearby shopping
mall, although the airport is the priority destination.
Registration
Attendees may download a registration form
from http://www.acs.org/meetings/regional/calendar.html.
A registration form will also be available in the August 28th issue of Chemical and Engineering
News, and will be mailed to ACS members in the Midwest Region near that
date. Advance registration must be received in the ACS Office of Regional
Meetings by Friday, October 6th. Those not registering on-line
should mail or fax the registration form to Evangelos Koutalas, ACS Office
of Regional Meetings, 1155 16th St. NW, Washington, DC 20036; Fax #
202-776-8299. Full payment by either check or credit card must accompany
all registration forms.
Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the above address. Full
refunds will be granted until October 6th. From October 6th - October
24th, a $20 processing fee will be assessed. No refunds will be granted
after October 23rd.
On-site registration and distribution of program books and badges will take
place in the main lobby of the hotel on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM,
on Thursday from 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM and on Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM.
