Your visit will include tours of research laboratories and instrument facilities\, and chemistry demonstrations by the UM-St. Louis Chemistry Club. \nIn the department tour\, research in biochemistry\, inorganic\, organic\, and physical chemistry will be featured and major instruments to be demonstrated include x-ray diffraction\, nuclear magnetic resonance\, mass spectrometry and electron microscopy. The “central science” nature of chemistry and biochemistry are tied in to other careers\, such as those in healthcare. \nLunch (pizza\, etc.) starting at about 11:30 a.m. concludes the event. \nFor more details\, please see the invitation letter. \nPlease respond by Friday April 21st\, 2017 to Leah Trimble (516-5311\, e-mail: trimblel@umsl.edu) with the number of students who will attend and include an email address in your response. Questions about the program can be addressed to: \nProfessor Keith Stine\nkstine@umsl.edu\n(314) 516-5346\n—or—\nProfessor James J. O’Brien\nobrien@jinx.umsl.edu\n(314) 516-5717 \nDepartment of Chemistry and Biochemistry\nOne University Blvd.\nSt. Louis\, Missouri 63121
