SUMMARY:Washington University chemistry tournament
DESCRIPTION:This is the “Second Annual” chemistry tournament\, organized and hosted entirely by WUSTL undergraduates. The competition invites high school students across the nation to participate in a series of individual and team-based chemistry exams\, engage with college students and faculty\, and earn recognition at an awards ceremony. WUCT emphasizes real world applications of science and promotes fundamental problem-solving and teamwork skills. \nThe first tournament was held in April 2016 and had 180 high school students across the nation travel to our campus. SUMMARY:Greater St Louis Science Fair
DESCRIPTION:Dinner for judges is free at site 5–6 pm.  \nElementary (grades K–5) participation awards distributed to chemistry-related projects. Three people needed for about 1 hour each between 3 pm and 8 pm; no judging involved.  \nSecondary  (grades 6–12) judging of chemistry-related projects 3 to 8:30 pm. Please come for at least 2.5 hours. All secondary judges must be present at 8:30 pm to pick winners. SUMMARY:3rd Annual ChemBowl
DESCRIPTION:The competition is a rapid-paced\, buzz-in type team tournament open to first-year high school chemistry students only\, three to six students to a team\, but only four compete in each round. At least one coach (teacher or parent) must accompany each team. \nRegistration: $25 per team to defray the cost of ribbons and trophies for the top-placing teams. Deadline for registration is April 19.   \nLast year’s event was a great success with ten different teams participating (up from eight the year before). Please contact Robert Becker if you need more information or would like to register a team.
