The Saint Louis University Department of Chemistry and Sigma-Aldrich Corporation present Peter Dervan, the 2013 Sigma-Aldrich Lecturer.

Dr Dervan is the Bren Professor of Chemistry at Cal Tech. He has won over a dozen major national and international awards for his work in sequence-specific recognition of DNA by designed small molecules.

He will be in St Louis on May 1st and 2nd, and will deliver two lectures:

May 1st, 4 pm in Pere Marquette Gallery, DuBourg Hall, Saint Louis University
Molecular Recognition of DNA by Small Molecules: From Discovery to Invention, a Historical Perspective
Reception precedes lecture, beginning at 3 pm

May 2nd, 9:30 am, Room 1610, Sigma-Aldrich Learning Center, 2909 Laclede Street
Regulation of Gene Expression by DNA Binding Py-Im Polyamides: Chemistry for Transcriptional Therapy

All are welcome to attend any or all of the events. More information about Dr Dervan and his research interests can be found on his Cal Tech faculty web page.
