The annual Awards Banquet honoring local teachers, teaching scientists, and high school and college students, was held April 9, 2024, at Favazza’s on the Hill. After brief opening remarks by banquet organizer Elizabeth Bergman and section chair James Bashkin, Pfizer’s Jacquelynn Smith offered excellent career advice to students in her talk, Reflection, My Career Journey.

Organized expertly by Prof. Leah O’Brien (SIUE), the event was held at Vue17 in Clayton that gave us exceptional 180-degree vistas

Awards Night was held on April 18, 2017 at Maggiano’s in Brentwood with around 100 people in attendance. Winners of the high school chemistry contest, the high school chemistry teacher-of-the-year, and the outstanding junior chemistry students at area colleges and universities are all recognized. By all accounts, the evening was a nice celebration.
