Science fairs 2014: judging opportunities

Help inspire the next generation of chemists by volunteering for any of three (3) (III) upcoming opportunities.

  1. Missouri Tri-county Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    Saturday, February 22, 9am–12pm
    St Charles Community College (directions), Student Center (campus map)
    K-4 participation awards distributed. Judging for grades 5-8 grades, 9-12, honors 9-12
    Free judges’ breakfast 8-9
  2. Illinois Jr Academy of Sciences Regional Science Fair
    Saturday, March 29, 9:30am–1:00pm
    Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, IL, in the Morris University Center
    Morris University Center is #8 on campus map. Park in lot E. The SIUE regional fair hosts over 200 of the finest 5th through 12th grade student projects from a ten-county area.
    Meet at 9am; judging 9:30am–1pm for grades 5-8, 9-12, honors 9-12. Light judges’ buffet lunch available.
  3. Greater St Louis Science Fair
    Wednesday, Apr 30, 2013, 3pm–9pm
    Queeny Park Recreation Complex off Weidman Rd, Ballwin, MO (map)
    — Elementary (K-5) Participation Awards distributed to chemistry-related projects. Three people needed for about 1 hour each between 3 pm and 8 pm. No judging involved.
    — Secondary (6-12) judging of chemistry-related projects 3-8:30 pm (please come for at least 2.5 hours>
    Secondary judges must be present at 8:30 pm to pick winners; this takes about an hour.
    Dinner for judges is free at site (5-6 pm).
